vegetables, snails, frogs and snakes baby quilt
Last week I worked on another baby quilt for Jack. I had the two strip pieced pieces with vegetables already made. I decided to use sections of the vegetable strips in a Chinese Coin quilt. The Laurel Burch snake fabric looked like a good border. Then I needed to add another layer of border to tie it all together. I decided to use some of the "creatures and critters" snail and frog strips in the second border. Then I took several strips of vegetable fabrics in the center out by hand and hand sewed the snail and frogs into the "garden." I am pretty happy with the current version of this one.

Great spring weekend!
I had the best weekend! I cooked a birthday dinner for my father's 74th birthday. My daughter and her family attended. Later in the afternoon, we took my grandson on a wild flower walk with my ex-husband, "grandpa". We found hundreds of trout lilies blooming along the Guyandotte River. The rainy spring weather must agree with them, because I have never seen so many of them in one place. The spring beauties and cutleaf toothwort were also blooming.
